I love this restaurant… reminds me of the little street side restaurants in San Jose Del Cabo… I have a hard time deciding which homemade salsa to use though… they are all amazing.

@ Foodosopher – Best Mexican food I’ve tried so far in Vancouver is Salsa and Agave, followed closely by Tequila Kitchen. Going to try this place tonight.

Ahh ,that would make more sense. Sorry, my misinterpretation.

I didn’t like Tio Pepe’s much. It was ok, but nothing special.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Im looking forward to Dona Cata!

ah, ok. I think what they mean by that category is “best Central American food in Vancouver”. There are certainly many more places to get authentic latin cuisine in other countries and cities.

If you’re looking for more options, Baru Latino is pretty good (although more South American than Mexican), Tio Pepe’s, Salsa & Agave and apparently there is an authentic (but not as good as Dona Cata) taqueria in the West End.

I haven’t tried them yet, so I can’t really say for certain. In Vancouver, I wouldn’t argue – I haven’t managed to find truly good Mexican in the GYVR area. That’s why i am looking forward to trying it! But in the America’s (which i took to mean North America), I think there are a few places (like Mexico, or Los Angeles, NYC, or even Chicago) that have better Mexican food. Just a matter of demographics, population, ingredients, locale, etc…

not my rating, but I’m interested to hear who you would put in front of them? we’re kind of scant in the latin department in this city.
